The Great New York State is one of the highlights of the summer, and the American Red Cross parking lot near the fairgrounds is a welcoming tradition for visitors as they begin their day. The lot is fully staffed by Red Cross volunteers.
Thanks to the generosity of Crucible Industries, the Red Cross has been operating the parking destination every year of the fair since 2002. It’s conveniently located across from the main gate. Guests pay $10 for a spot on the day of their visit, with proceeds supporting Red Cross programs and services throughout the year.

In 2022, the initiative raised $125,000.
The parking lot welcomes guests throughout the fair’s 13-day docket. It’s a tremendous undertaking with more than 100 volunteers collectively working nearly 1,500 hours. Their dedication ensures an efficient operation and a welcome attraction for fairgoers enamored by the dual advantage of securing a cherished parking locale while supporting the mission of the Red Cross.
Thank you to our volunteers, community partners and supporters for another successful run at The Great New York State Fair.
