Volunteer Andy Cordiale of Warren County recently returned from Oklahoma where he was assisting with Casework and Recovery Planning for the Disaster Relief Operation in response to a spate of tornadoes. It was his 52nd deployment on behalf of the Red Cross!

“Here is the Intake recovery team going through the plan to get all on the same page and help residents who have suffered devastating loss due to the tornadoes which struck Oklahoma. We were in the final stages here to begin our two weeks of down to earth work and make the most of our means to help all those in need,” Andy explains.

This spring, volunteers from our region have traveled to Oklahoma, Florida and Texas, as well as working virtually, in response to weather-related disasters. More deployments are expected as severe weather has wreaked havoc across the country.

Over the last two months, the American Red Cross has been providing nonstop comfort and support to thousands of people across the country affected by disasters of all sizes. This work includes launching 70 disaster relief operations and distributing tens of thousands of relief supplies and ready to eat meals in more than half of all U.S. states.
