Shelter Services volunteers support Disaster Cycle Services disaster relief by operating Red Cross shelters before, during, and after a disaster event. They make sure families don’t face tough times alone.

Peter McKee of the Northeastern New York Chapter has been a shelter volunteer since 2022. He has supervised three Mega Shelters in Florida and has helped to opened over half a dozen shelters across our the Eastern New York Region. Additionally, he has supervised three Mega Shelters in Florida.

“I find it very rewarding to help provide shelter, food, comfort and safety to people after they have had what they often describe as the worst day or their lives.”
