Manny Diaz volunteers for our Hudson Valley Chapter in many capacities. Among them, he’s the chapter’s Home Fire Campaign Team Lead, managing teams that install smoke alarms, educate residents on fire safety and canvass high-risk neighborhoods to promote the program. He’s also a Disaster Services caseworker, helping residents impacted by home fires and other disasters as they navigate the road to recovery.

Manny offers a special blend of abilities and knowledge, bringing a wealth of experience in the human services and health sectors. In addition to the Red Cross, Manny has volunteered as a program assistant for the Dutchess County Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and served as the sales coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh-ReStore. He’s also bilingual.

In 2021, he was recognized by Walden Bank as a Community Champion for his volunteer work throughout the Hudson Valley

“I have always had a passion for helping those in need, so that is what drives me to help. As a lead and caseworker, I get to assist a lot of individuals, which is fantastic.”

Manny encourages his neighbors to join the Red Cross as a volunteer. “This is a really fulfilling experience that you will not regret and comes with excellent training for anyone who wants to help us and do some real good.”
