Dalila Rapposelli-Wiese of the Hudson Valley Chapter is a member of the region’s Volunteer Screening Team, a virtual position supporting Volunteer Services. Screeners connect new volunteers with positions for which they are both interested and well suited, ensuring every volunteer feels welcomed, valued, and ready to make a difference.

Dalila’s journey with the Red Cross began while she was pursuing her degree in Human Resources Management, so the chance to volunteer came at the perfect time. She was looking to improve her knowledge of recruiting when she learned that Red Cross had volunteer opportunities.
“Volunteering as a screener has taught me so much. I am grateful every day for this opportunity because I can share my expertise with the community and connect wonderful people to future volunteer roles. I am also motivated every day to improve and learn about all the amazing people out there!
“During my volunteer work, I have learned something important. We often see only bad news on TV and social media, forgetting how much good exists in the world. While volunteering for the American Red Cross, I discovered that good people are always around; they just need someone to link them to their next volunteer opportunity.
“I am a huge advocate for volunteering. Not only will you offer your skills and kindness to those in need, but you will also learn something new every day, enriching your mind.”
