This morning, our Northeastern New York Chapter hosted its 3rd annual Real Heroes Breakfast in Albany, NY. It was an inspiring celebration of ordinary citizens who’ve done extraordinary things in our community this year. We were thrilled to be able to honor fifteen individuals who have literally saved lives through selfless acts of service and bravery that range from donating blood to performing CPR to serving local veterans.

Hopefully these stories serve as a reminder that all of us are capable of being heroes in one way or another. Consider getting trained in CPR, teaching your kids about fire safety, helping support our military, donating blood, or volunteering with the Red Cross. Through countless, simple actions like these, we all have the power to change and save lives.
March is Red Cross Month – a fitting time to recognize the everyday heroes who are there to help when it’s needed most. We’re grateful to all those who help fulfill the Red Cross mission to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
