Last month, we shared a few highlights from what was then our largest local Home Fire Campaign event in the Eastern New York Region. We installed nearly 250 free smoke alarms for families in Poughkeepsie in October. But at our latest event, in the City of Schenectady, we were able to install more than 400 free smoke alarms in one day, thanks to an amazing outpouring of support from local volunteers and community partners.

We can’t wait to build on our momentum, and to bring fire safety education and resources to hundreds more homes across our region in the year ahead. While we’re focused on installing smoke alarms for as many people as possible, our real goal is saving lives, and working smoke alarms can make a huge difference.

Volunteers are critical to our success with this campaign, so please consider joining us! Learn more about our local Home Fire Campaign at redcross.org/eny/homefires.
