The Northeastern Chapter of the American Red Cross has announced its new slate of officers and welcomes five new members.

Board Chair:

Renee Abdou-Malta

President – New York for Beacon Health Options

Abdou-Malta has worked at Beacon Health Options for more than 29 years, serving in a number of leadership positions with increasing responsibility within the organization. A 36-year veteran of the health care industry,  Abdou-Malta is an active participant across the New York health care landscape. She currently serves on the New York State Business Council Board of Directors.

                                                         

Vice Chairs:

Rose Miller, SPHR

Senior Director of Strategic Relationships – GTM Payroll Services

Miller is responsible for implementing and developing strategic business relationships with CPAs, benefit brokers, and other key partner networks, Rose works to promote GTM’s payroll and human capital management solution to their clients. She also maintains ongoing relationships with current partners and offers new ways to grow the relationships.

Krista St. George

Vice President, Core Solutions – Si Group

St. George has more than 20 years in executive leadership roles spanning the non-profit, financial services and industrial sectors. She’s developed a passion for building cross-functional, global teams and coaching individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to complex problems.

New Board Members:

Dan Berryann

Audit Manager – Crowe Healthcare

Berryann’s primary focus is working with healthcare systems, hospitals and health insurance plans to simplify the business of healthcare. He has over 15 years of experience in both external and internal audit roles. Berryann has regularly donated blood and platelets through the American Red Cross for nearly 20 years.

Michael Ewell, CISM, CRCM, CFIRS, CTFA, CFA

Chief Compliance Officer and Information Security Officer – Trustco Bank

Ewell has had the pleasure of working with a dedicated team of successful professionals for over 20 years. Ewell joins the board with over a decade of leadership experience at the non-profit board and committee level serving local charitable organizations.

Andrea Johnson

Employee Performance Leader – SEFCU

Johnson began her career in the banking industry in 2012, providing personalized experiences for members and gaining an unparalleled commitment to service. She is passionate about helping others tap into their potential, find direction, and accomplish their individual and organizational goals. Her purpose is to empower others and inspire them with her actions. To make positive connections with all those around her. To leave the world a better place.

Jill M. Luther

Senior Director of Government Affairs –  Charter Communications

Luther has broad responsibility for critical issues that impact the corporation’s financial and business performance. Throughout her more than 13 years in the field, Luther has been recognized as a strategic leader with a clear vision and ability to solve a number of complex business and community issues related to both intergovernmental and non-government areas.

Bob Shevy

Community and Customer Lead Program Manager – National Grid

Shevy works with the New York East Jurisdiction team at National Grid in Albany, serving Rensselaer and Columbia Counties.  In this role, Shevy assists the largest commercial and industrial customers and is the community liaison for the some of the largest cities in the area. He also spends time volunteering with the NY Special Olympics, Watervliet Civic Center, Northeast Regional Foodbank, and The Bus Stop Club in Albany.  Shevy serves on the Advisory Board for the Troy YMCA, Workforce Advisory Board for Hudson Valley Community College, and recently joined the board with First Robotics.

The Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York provides leadership and support for a chapter serving  the communities of Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Hamilton, Fulton, Montgomery, Schoharie, Clinton, Franklin and Essex counties.
